AIATSIS Education is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the next Education Advisory Committee (EAC) membership term, which will run from mid-2025 to mid-2027. The primary focus of the EAC is to provide expert advice to the CEO on the implementation of the AIATSIS Education Strategy.
The EAC consists of eight members who are appointed for a term of two years. Meetings occur twice a year, usually virtually, and run for up to three hours. This is a paid position and the EAC is governed by the EAC Charter.
This is an especially exciting time to join the EAC with the announcement of Ngurra: The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Precinct. Experts who have knowledge and experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education in the National Cultural Institute and GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sectors are especially encouraged to apply.
When considering appointments to the EAC, AIATSIS will consider:
- Interdisciplinary expertise in Indigenous research
- Stakeholders engaged with Indigenous education
- Representation from early childhood, primary, and secondary education
- Gender balance
- Majority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander membership
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge traditions
We will be accepting EOIs from Thursday 19th June 2025 to Friday 18th July 2025. Please submit your application via the EOI webform below.
