There are a host of social, cultural, economic and health benefits which flow from allowing Indigenous fishers to provide for their communities, and to have a say in decisions that affect how their traditional resources are used.

AIATSIS and the Ngaiyuriija Ngunawal Language Group are working together to revitalise the Ngunnawal language of the ACT and nearby areas of NSW.

Preserve, Strengthen and Renew aims to return material held in the AIATSIS archive, record new material with community members and to help establish protocols for keeping cultural material safe.

The materials developed in support of native title claims are large, complex and of historical, cultural and economic value to current and future members of native title groups, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and to the nation more broadly. The management of these materials represents an ongoing challenge for native title groups and their representatives.
