Our Land is Our Birth Right – Mabo25 and Beyond

Registrations are now open for the 2017 National Native Title Conference to be held Monday 5 June to Wednesday 7 June, on the traditional lands of the Gurambilbarra Wulgurukaba people, in Townsville, Queensland.

Register now.

Co-convened by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and the North Queensland Land Council (NQLC), this year’s program will celebrate 25 years since the High Court of Australia’s momentous Mabo decision.

The conference grows each year and has seen record attendances set for the last three years running. The diverse program attracts an expanding number of Indigenous organisations, native title holders and claimants, lawyers, academics and representatives from government agencies.

The call for papers has been extended to Friday 14 April 2017. We are calling for proposals that will contribute to the discussion and target the conference sub-themes; looking back, looking around us, looking forward.
