AIATSIS Indigenous Art Market returns online in 2022

25–27 November 2022 inclusive

Since its establishment in 2014, the AIATSIS Indigenous Art Market has grown to become the largest Indigenous art market operating in the Canberra region – showcasing a diverse range of paintings, textiles, sculptures, and much more.

The market provides an ethical platform for the sale of First Nations art, ensuring that 100 per cent of the proceeds of sales returns to the source – artists, art centres, communities.

An online event since 2020, the AIATSIS IAM has established itself as a drawcard for art buyers – both those from throughout Australia and those from abroad.

Interest from art centres is also strong, with a record 37 registered for this year’s market.

Once again, AIATSIS will work with the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation, which has the depth of experience with online art markets to ensure the best online presentation on behalf of the artists and the best online experience for customers.

Works will be added progressively over the duration of the event, so make a note to revisit the AIATSIS IAM website throughout the three days it will operate.
