2024 AIATSIS Summit to be held in Naarm (Melbourne) with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria as Co-convenors

The Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is pleased to announce that in partnership with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria as co-convenors, the 2024 AIATSIS Summit will be held in Naarm (Melbourne) from 3-7 June 2024 on the Traditional Lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung Peoples of the eastern Kulin Nation.

The AIATSIS Summit is a unique forum for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples;  academics; Native Title stakeholders; legal experts; community and cultural sectors; and government to collaborate. The Summit also offers opportunities to support and strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, knowledges and governance. 

Mr Leonard Hill, Interim CEO of AIATSIS said:
