Inquiry into the Development of Northern Australia

The AIATSIS submission to the Joint Select committee on Northern Australia in its Inquiry to the Development of Northern Australia addresses all issues raised in the terms of reference to consider policies for developing the parts of Australia that lie north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Many of the issues addressed cross over all aspects of the inquiry, as it is imperative that any policies for development of Northern Australia consider the impacts on the Indigenous Australians who have traditional connections to and native title rights and interests in the land which may be affected by this development (the traditional owners).
