Summary

The Act provides for amendments to the Conservation, Forests and Lands Act 1987, the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978, the Land Act 1958 and the Land Conservation (Vehicle Control) Act 1972 in relation to regulation-making powers and other matters, with the aim to create more effective and efficient management of areas of Crown land.

The Act provides for the more efficient enforcement of offences on Crown land. Higher penalties will be introduced for a range of offences, including driving off road, polluting, or damaging or destroying vegetation, natural features or native fauna. The offences will be standardised across Crown land legislation. Fees can also be set to use the land in a reserve authorised by permit.
