National Native Title Conference 2-4 June 2014 - Registrations now open

This year’s National Native Title Conference theme is Living with Native Title from the Bush to the Sea. Hosted by the Gumbaynggirr people, traditional owners of the Coffs Harbour region, the conference will be held at Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort.
The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and NTSCORP Limited, invite interested parties to register now.
The conference promotes public debate about native title, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ interests in land and waters, and provides an opportunity for native title parties to share information and experiences.
AIATSIS Chair, Professor Mick Dodson said the three-day program provides a unique opportunity for a diverse range of native title stakeholders from across the country to come together to review current native title practice, policy and law.
“The National Native Title Conference is recognised as the leading Indigenous policy conference in Australia,” said Professor Dodson.
“It’s also the leading annual professional development event for staff of native title representative bodies, service providers, relevant government agencies, independent native title practitioners and academics.”
As part of the 2014 National Native Title Conference, AIATSIS will be hosting a National Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) Meeting, on Sunday 1 June, 2014 to enable PBCs to network and discuss issues at a national level. The meeting will be a closed session for PBC directors, members and staff only.
