In this submission AIATSIS largely welcomes the suite of proposals outlined in the consultation paper. In addition AIATSIS provides a detailed a number of issues to be considered in relation to the proposals:

Support for legislative reform, acknowledging the challenges of this strategy
How engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be undertaken in relation to the intellectual property system
The need for a coordinated government approach to ensuring the protection of Indigenous Knowledge.
