Aboriginal Australians face a range of health challenges which can be linked to dietary- related factors. There is a higher prevalence of dietary related illness among Aboriginal people. This includes cardiovascular disease, diabetes and renal disease. Many historical, cultural, social and political factors have influenced the current dietary practice of Aboriginal Australians. These factors can be traced back to the pre-colonial era and through the 200 years of occupation.
