Victoria’s Traditional Owner Settlement Act 2010 is delivering recognition, economic opportunity and joint management of Crown land for Traditional Owners across the state. While the Act offers an extensive range of benefits, it has also created a demand for specialist NRM, economic development and strategic planning advice before claims are settled.

Using development planning methods, Native Title Services Victoria (NTSV) is working with groups to articulate aspirations for a shared future that ensures Traditional Owners can leverage the full potential of their settlements.

This session will outline the conceptual framework we are using to guide our work and invite a conversation about the relationship between native title and Indigenous development.
