Pathways to working in Native Title

Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people around the country work hard, often for little reward, to achieve native title outcomes for their communities. They provide leadership, attend meetings, give evidence, sit on governing boards, and advise government and industry. But there are many other ways that individuals who care about native title and land rights can ‘work’ for their community: as lawyers, archaeologists, anthropologists, heritage advisors, facilitators, managers, language workers and community development experts, just to name a few. This Indigenous Talking Circle will hear from a number of different Indigenous professionals working in the sector to explore some of the educational and employment pathways that can be taken to establish a successful and rewarding career working on native title related issues.
