The Clump Point area of North Queensland is extremely significant to the Djiru People and is a core part of Djiru homeland. The Djiru People have native title over the area and surrounds which contains shell and artefact scatters, fish traps and ceremony grounds. The sheltered bay has fringing reef, sandy beaches, mudflats, mangroves and adjacent rainforest.
This is a story of expansion pressures, native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage.
