Preparing superior Form 1 and ILUA applications and supporting documents: Presentation for Native Title Representative Bodies/Service Providers
In this session the Native Title Registrar will provide Representative Bodies/Service Providers with key steps and suggestions for preparing superior and compliant Form 1 applications and ILUAs lodged for registration. Many delays in the native title system can originate in the application process. These delays can be avoided or minimised by properly prepared and supported applications. Poorly prepared applications may result in a good claim being rejected or significantly delayed while the Native Title Registrar seeks better information or relevant supporting documents. This session will explain the Native Title Registrar’s processes and the requirements of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (Act). The main focus will be on providing practical examples of how to ensure compliance with the Act and the relevance of supporting material and documents.
