Australia has seen an expansion in resource and other projects involving the use of Indigenous land, coupled with more native title determinations. Agreements from these projects impact Indigenous rights, but also provide assets that represent a significant opportunity for Indigenous Australians to pursue social, economic and cultural objectives. These Native Title Asset Management Structures represent material opportunities for Indigenous groups to articulate and pursue their visions for the future.

Based on a review of the academic literature and stakeholder interviews this presentation seeks to:
• Outline the possible legal structures and functions for a Native Title Asset Management Structure.
• Consider structural and operational improvements.
• Identify ‘best practice’ features.
