Indigenous researchers often say they are undertaking research for the good of the mob. They want to change policy and see things done differently but how does research impact on government policy and are Indigenous researchers really making a difference in this space? Having worked in government social policy and strategy for over 20 years and undertaking social research the answer to this question is debateable. This presentation will discuss the difficulties of using Indigenous research in public policy and how researchers and universities can assist in turning this around to make a difference for Indigenous Australians.
