The AIATSIS Collection contains more than one million items, including books, audio, photographic, manuscript, moving image and art and object material, related to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.

We are currently integrating a number of our Collection platforms into our main website. In the meantime, please use some of our different platforms to search and explore the AIATSIS Collection.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that the AIATSIS Collection contains images, voices and names of deceased persons.

The art and object collection reflects the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural expression and includes drawings, paintings, textiles, weavings, woodcarvings, and mixed-media objects.
