It consists of photocopies of field notebooks from Tennant Creek, Yuendumu and Banka Banka in the Northern Territory. Languages covered are Warlpiri, Warumungu, Mudbura and Warlmanpa. There is also a contents list of twenty nine field notebooks, of which numbers 8, 26 and 29 are held in this collection. David Nash has worked extensively on the Warlpiri language of the Northern Territory and he completed his doctoral thesis on ‘Topics in Warlpiri grammar’ in 1980. His current research interests include Australian languages (especially west-central Northern Territory and south-eastern Western Australia), language and land in Australia and making dictionaries for Indigenous languages. His fieldwork interests are in Warlpiri and Warlmanpa areas around Tennant Creek. Nash is an Honorary Visiting Scholar at AIATSIS where he is the ASEDA [Aboriginal Studies Electronic Data Archive] Manager. He is also an Honorary Visiting Fellow, Linguistics, Faculty of Arts at The Australian National University and is on the Pacific Linguistics advisory board.
