Mr John Neil

John is the Senior Advisor looking after the Economic Policy team in the Community and Economic Development Division of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C). John started in Treasury in 2002, before moving to PM&C in 2006 to work on health policy and then managed a team developing the health reform agenda. John then moved to the Department of Finance to work on Deregulation and then transferred back to PM&C with the function in 2013. John moved to Indigenous Affairs Group of PM&C in September 2015, first to develop reforms to the Community Development Programme, before taking over the Economic Policy Team in December 2016. John has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Public Economics from the Australian National University and a Master of Science in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
