Dr Steve Rogers is the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Appropriate Technology Ltd. The Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT) Ltd is an ASIC incorporated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) controlled business, Supply Nation accredited, with a majority ATSI membership, Board and Chairman and 52% ATSI staff, with offices in Alice Springs, Cairns and Darwin. From its establishment in 1980 CAT Ltd along with its wholly owned commercial engineering consultancy Ekistica Pty Ltd (Cat Projects) has grown to become a leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander science and technology company specialising in providing appropriate technology, education and accredited training and service delivery solutions across remote Australia. Its work spans the fields of water, renewable and isolated energy systems, housing, telecommunications, community infrastructure, large project management and economic development.
An experienced senior executive, joining the CAT Team in 2015, Steve brings over 10 years’ experience of CEO and Managing Director roles historically in the mining and oil and gas industry technology and innovation sectors and Directorship experience in commercial and not for profit organisations.
