Dr Wayne Beswick

With over twenty years’ experience in the Commonwealth public sector, Wayne has contributed to policy and programme development across a range of portfolios from vocational education and training to regional policy and Indigenous Affairs. After moving to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in 2003, Wayne held a range of positions including Senior Advisor on Indigenous policy, Director of Corporate Governance and Head of Internal Audit. Wayne joined the then Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs in 2011 as manager of ‘Closing the Gap’ policy and returned to PM&C in late 2013 with transfer of Indigenous Affairs policy and programmes. Since October 2014, Wayne has led the Land Branch in Housing, Land and Culture Division. Wayne has an honours degree in economics from the University of Melbourne, Master of Arts from the University of Sydney and doctorate from the Australian National University.
